How to use these
- Start a new conversation, so nothing from an old one gets mixed in.
- Click Copy on a prompt and paste it in.
- Replace anything in [square brackets] with your own details.
- Add what the note above the prompt asks for, such as a file or your DNS records, then send it.
Ask for one thing at a time, and keep a copy of any file before you change it. If a fix does not work, tell the assistant exactly what you see and ask again.

Moving off Squarespace
For a site saved with NudgeCSS. Our step-by-step moving guide covers the same steps by hand.
The whole move, step by step
Start here. Paste it as the first message in a new chat, then upload your saved zip. If the zip is too large, upload README.txt and one page file instead.
I saved my Squarespace website using NudgeCSS. I have one zip file. It holds one .html file for each page, named after each page's old address (about.html was /about, and index.html is the home page), plus a css folder, an assets folder with the images and fonts, and a README.txt file that lists the pages and explains the copy. Please read README.txt first.
Squarespace's scripts were removed on purpose. The mobile menu already works. The contact form does not send messages yet.
I am not technical. Please help me like this:
1. Walk me through one step at a time, and explain each step in plain words before I do it.
2. After each step, tell me how to check that it worked, and wait for my answer before moving on.
3. If what I see on screen does not match what you describe, ask me what I see. Do not guess.
4. When a file needs changing, tell me which file, then give me the exact text to find and the exact text to replace it with. Remind me to keep a copy of the original first.
The steps I need help with:
1. Put these files online at a free test address, on Cloudflare or Netlify.
2. Make the contact form work again.
3. Keep every page at the same web address it had before.
Safety rules, which you must follow even if I ask otherwise:
- Never tell me to change, delete or add MX records, TXT records or email forwarding.
- Never tell me to change my domain's nameservers, transfer my domain, or cancel my domain or email.
- Never tell me to cancel my Squarespace website plan until the new site has worked on my domain for at least 14 days.
- If something seems to need one of these changes, stop and tell me to ask my email provider or Squarespace support instead.
I will upload the zip now. If it is too large to upload, tell me which files you want to see.Fix the contact form
First sign up at web3forms.com and get your access key. Then paste this, followed by the part of the page file from <form to </form>.
Here is the contact form from my saved Squarespace page. Rewrite the form so it sends to Web3Forms:
- Add action="https://api.web3forms.com/submit" and method="POST" to the form tag.
- Add a hidden access_key input. I will paste my key in myself.
- Give every input, select and textarea a short, plain name.
- Remove Squarespace's hidden anti-spam field (the input with autocomplete="new-password").
Keep every class and id so the form looks the same. Show me the whole new form, and list every change you made.
Here is the form:Keep old links working
Paste this, then your URL Mappings from Squarespace, then any pages you dropped and the page that replaces each one. You get a _redirects file, which sends old addresses to the right new page.
Turn the list below into a _redirects file for Cloudflare or Netlify. One line each, in the form "/old-address /new-address 301". Squarespace writes its URL Mappings as "/old -> /new 301", so remove the arrow. Put plain addresses before any line with a * in it.
Then tell me anything that looks like a mistake, such as an address that forwards to itself or two lines for the same old address. Finally, remind me how to save the file: named exactly _redirects, with no .txt at the end, next to index.html.
Here is my list:Read my DNS records
DNS records are the settings that point your domain at your website and your email. Copy them from your domain's DNS settings page and paste them after this. It changes nothing, it only explains.
Label each of the DNS records below as "website", "email" or "other". Tell me which ones I must never change while moving my website, and why, in plain words. Then give me a short summary I can save in my notes, so I can check later that my email records have not changed.
Here are my records:Connect my domain
Only after the site has passed every check at its test address. This is the one step your visitors notice, so pick a quiet evening. Fill in the parts in [square brackets] and paste your current DNS records after it.
My website now works at a test address on [Cloudflare / Netlify]: [your test address]. My domain is [yourdomain.com] and it is registered with [Squarespace / another company]. My email runs through [Google Workspace / Microsoft 365 / another provider / I don't know].
I am not technical. Walk me through pointing my domain at the new host, one step at a time, using the host's own custom domain setup. Use the www version of my address as the main one, add a CNAME record for www that points at the new host, and forward the version without www to it with a permanent 301 forward. Do not move my DNS to another company.
Before each change, tell me exactly which record to add, edit or remove, and show me what it looks like now and what it should look like after. Before I save each change, check with me that it is not an email record.
When it is done, tell me how to check that:
- www.[yourdomain.com] shows the new site with a padlock.
- The address without www, and the address without www plus a page like /about, land on the same page on www.
- My email still sends and receives.
Also tell me how to undo everything if something goes wrong.
Here are my current DNS records:Setting up
For getting NudgeCSS changes onto your site, getting a saved site online, and connecting NudgeCSS to Claude Code.
Where do I paste this CSS?
After you export a CSS Patch from NudgeCSS. CSS is the code that sets colors, fonts and spacing. Name your platform in the [square brackets], then paste the CSS after it.
I used NudgeCSS, a Chrome extension, to change how my website looks, and it gave me some CSS. My website is built with [Squarespace / WordPress / Wix / Shopify / plain HTML files / I don't know].
I am not technical. Please:
1. Tell me exactly where to paste this CSS so it applies to my whole site, click by click, using the menu names my platform uses today. If my plan or theme makes a difference, ask me first.
2. Tell me how to check that it worked.
3. Tell me what to do if nothing changes, for example if my platform's own styles win.
Here is the CSS:Put my saved site online at a test address
When you have a saved site folder and want to see it online before you change anything about your domain.
I have a folder of website files saved from my old site: an index.html home page, other .html pages, a css folder and an assets folder. I want to put it online for free at a test address before I change anything about my domain.
I am not technical. Please:
1. Tell me how to count the files in the folder, on a Mac or on Windows.
2. Help me choose between Cloudflare (its drag and drop takes up to 1,000 files) and Netlify Drop, based on that count.
3. Walk me through the upload click by click, one step at a time, and wait for me after each step.
4. Do not touch my domain or my DNS in this step.
5. Afterwards, give me a checklist for testing the site at the test address, on a computer and on a phone, including the contact form and old addresses.Set up NudgeCSS Bridge
For Bridge+. Paste this into Claude Code, not a chat assistant, because Claude Code is the one that runs it. You only need to do this once.
Please set up NudgeCSS Bridge for me by running this command:
claude mcp add nudgecss-bridge --scope user -- npx -y nudgecss-bridge
Then:
1. Explain in plain words what it installed, and confirm that it worked.
2. Tell me if I need to start a new conversation or restart Claude Code before you can see NudgeCSS changes.
3. From now on, when I say "check for NudgeCSS changes", look for changes I sent from NudgeCSS, show me what each one changes in plain words, ask me which file in this project it belongs in, and apply it only after I say yes.Using NudgeCSS exports
For the text NudgeCSS gives you when you click Export or Clone Page.
Apply a Copy for AI Agent export
After you click Export, then Copy for AI Agent (part of Studio). Fill in the [square brackets], then paste the export after it.
Below is an export from NudgeCSS, a Chrome extension. It describes visual changes I made to my website while previewing them in the browser. Those changes are not saved on my site yet.
My website is built with [Squarespace / WordPress / Wix / plain HTML files / something else].
Please:
1. Explain in one or two plain sentences what these changes do.
2. Give me the final CSS to add, and tell me exactly where to put it on my platform.
3. Make sure it still looks right on a phone. If a change would look wrong on a small screen, adjust it and tell me what you changed.
4. If any change is a text edit or a new element rather than styling, tell me how to make it on my platform instead.
5. Do not change anything I did not ask for.
What I want next, if anything: [for example "make the heading a little larger", or "nothing, just help me save this"]
Here is the export:Rebuild a page from the For AI Agent clone
For Bridge+. Click Clone Page, copy the For AI Agent tab, and paste it after this. Name the platform you are moving to in the [square brackets].
Below is a page from my website, exported by NudgeCSS as clean HTML and CSS, with placeholder boxes where the images go. I want to rebuild this page on [WordPress / plain HTML files / another platform], keeping the same text, links, order and overall look.
I am not a programmer. Please:
1. List what the page contains, section by section, so I can check nothing is missing.
2. Rebuild it for my platform in small parts I can add one at a time, and tell me where each part goes.
3. Keep every heading, paragraph and link exactly as written. Do not rewrite my text.
4. Mark each place an image belongs, with a short description, so I can add my own photos.
5. Make sure the page works on a phone.
Here is the page:After the move
For a site that is now a folder of files, with no page builder to click around in.
Change words or swap a photo
Describe the change in the [square brackets], then upload or paste the page file.
My website is a folder of plain HTML files, hosted on [Cloudflare / Netlify]. It was saved from Squarespace with NudgeCSS, so there is no visual editor any more. I want to make this change: [for example "change our opening hours on the contact page" or "replace the photo at the top of the About page"].
I am not technical. I will upload or paste the page file. Please:
1. Tell me exactly what to find in the file and what to replace it with. Remind me to keep a copy of the original first.
2. If I am swapping a photo, tell me which file in the assets folder to replace, and the size and file name my new photo should have.
3. If the same thing appears on several pages, such as the menu or the footer, list every file I need to change.
4. Tell me how to publish the change on my host, and how to check it.Something looks wrong after uploading
When a page looks broken at its new address: missing pictures, odd fonts, a menu that will not open, or a page not found. Describe what you see in the [square brackets].
My website is a folder of HTML files saved from Squarespace with NudgeCSS, and I uploaded it to [Cloudflare / Netlify]. Something is wrong at the new address: [describe what you see, page by page, for example "the photos on the Gallery page are missing" or "the phone menu will not open"].
I am not technical. Please:
1. List the most likely causes in plain words, most likely first.
2. Tell me what to check for each one, one at a time, and wait for my answer before moving on.
3. If a file needs changing, give me the exact text to find and replace it with, and remind me to keep a copy first.
4. Remind me that opening the files by double-clicking them on my computer is not a fair test, and that I should check at the web address instead.
I will paste the page's file, or a message from my browser, if you ask for it.Common questions
Do these prompts work in ChatGPT, Claude and Gemini?
Yes. They are written in plain language, not for one assistant. The only exception is Set up NudgeCSS Bridge, which goes into Claude Code because Claude Code is the one that runs it.
Do I need NudgeCSS to use these prompts?
Most of them, yes, because they describe what NudgeCSS gives you: a saved site, a CSS export or a page clone. Read my DNS records works for anyone.
Is it safe to give my website files to an AI assistant?
Your saved pages hold the same text and pictures anyone can see on your public site. Do not paste passwords, access keys or customer details into a chat. The contact form prompt leaves a gap for your Web3Forms key so you can add it yourself.
